Unit 32 ident
PLAN FOR MY IDENT
The plan for my idents was to have a castle with a weapon medieval that had spotted some enemy fighters approaching over the hill and this was the letters 'The Grid' and this would prepare for war and attack the castle whereas the castles medieval weapons would attack them first killing the logo and would fall to the ground. To make my ident I was going to make all my area and logo within the program of photoshop and using animation to make them move around. I had to change my plans slightly to make the ident seem more eventful and I did this by putting it into final cut and this gave the audience the feel that something was going on in the background of the ident when really all that I did was zoom in on the area that was selected to make it seem closer to the audience.
WAS ANYTHING EXTRA INCLUDED?WHY?
I did include an extra piece of the sound track this was chosen as a peaceful/ tranquil sound for the audience to be put in because when the castle fires on them it seemed as a laugh with a huge fire explosion to stop the music and kill the idents logo. I was pleased with the results because it was of a standard I was pleased of and could be proud to show without worry that it may be looked upon as childish, especially with the bright colours and not adult atmosphere.
WHAT WAS DIFFICULT
I found putting the film/ animation in final cut difficult because it was an unreconisable format and so had to be changed to understand. Also when I had put the film into final cut I had no idea how to move or adjust any of the clips and had to deal with areas and objects such as key frames which I didnt know how to use at all.
CREATING MY BACKGROUND
When I was creating my background for the clip/ ident I used photoshop in an animation setting with the use of colour assist by pulling the area across I was able to make the a area turn from light to dark and make a sky with the sun in another area of the scene/ shot.
LOGO DESIGN AND CREATIVITY
I made my logo by writing the grid then adjusting the effects in it to make it look like sheet metal or forged metsl with a electricity sign behind it this is because the grid makes me think of the power grid and electricity.
HOW TO ANIMATE MY IDENT
When I had the animation in final cut added the finishing touches I added the animation in photoshop by moving the relevant area during the frame then creating a new slide frame to stop the movement and start a new one.
EXPORTING MY IDENT
I exported my ident as a quicktime file so that I could put the file on youtube and then my blog from there.
